In my mental labyrinths, a metaphysical reflection can be said to be
a common denominator.
I start from the idea that primary information about us is stored in
the unconscious mind. It communicates with us in its own coded
language, which the conscious tries to decode.
I read mythological stories (fabels/science fiction) as a method of
trying to establish a communication with the unconscious. As the
brain is known to be our first archive, I begin by drawing memories
of literary texts. It inspires me to automatic drawing and free
association. I try to combine experiences from literature with visual
art, without going in the direction of illustration, but to find
expressions for constellations in the borderland between
unconscious and conscious. Gradually, own experiences are
blended into the process and the work becomes more
representative.
